Bind is an incredible map for Sova, as there are many lineups for his abilities. Both shock dart and recon dart are considerably powerful on both A-Site and B-Site. Learning the lineups for shock darts for default plant spots is particularly good since attackers almost always plant in the same area. It’s also worth noting that shock darts do 90 damage at the center of the explosion, and much less on the outsides of the explosion. Remember that each shock dart only costs 100 credits, and any damage achieved with them is very good for your team.
Shock Darts for Bind Defense:
Default Plant Spot on A-Site – (Two Charges to Shoot):
You will first want to come to defender side spawn and walk into the corner seen in the image above. It’s worth noting that this shock dart should be used when you know the enemies are planting or preparing to plant on A-Site.
Turn around and face where A-Site is located and used the image above to setup the shot. Red rectangles/squares will be featured in each image to help with each specific lineup. Make sure to hold the shock dart for two charges, as this is precisely how much charge is needed to make it to A-Site.
After a couple of tries, you will end up with a shock dart that lands close to the area in the image above. Remember that using two shock darts together has the potential to kill the enemy planter since the center of each does a max of 90 damage. It’s also worth noting that this spot is particularly good since Sage players will typically wall right around this area, usually ensuring that your arrows will do at least some damage.
Default Plant Spot on B-Site – (Three Charges to Shoot):
This shock dart is shot from the defender’s spawn and is very good when you know the enemy team is executing on B-Site. To begin, walk into the corner next to the barrel as seen in the image above.
Turn around and face where B-Site is located and use the image above to help with the lineup. The Owl Drone on Sova’s arm should touch the edge of the building just like in the red square. Hold this shock dart for three charges and it will land perfectly on the default plant-spot for B-Site.
The area this shock dart lands is where attacking teams will almost always plant the spike after taking the site. With some good timing, securing a kill on the spike planter is an easy kill for your team’s retake.
Shock Darts for Bind Attack on B-Site:
Default Plant on B-Site from Long-B (One Bounce and Two Charges to Shoot):
This shock dart can be used after planting on B-Site in the default position. After your team gets the spike down, walk to B-Long and watch the site from garden or watch B-Long. When an enemy begins defusing the spike, walk into the corner pinged in the image above.
After walking into the corner next to the teleporter, line your charge HUD up with the blue dot on the wall as seen in the image above. The blue dot is where the smaller red rectangle is. Once you have successfully lined this up, make sure to have one bounce and release at two charges.
When done successfully, the shock dart will land on the default plant spot, damaging any enemy defusers for 90 damage. Keep in mind this must be done quickly, or the defuser has a chance to stick the defuse and win the round. Also remember that this strategy requires a specific plant spot from your team, meaning you should communicate where you want your team to plant.
Default Plant on B-Site from Elbow (Two Bounces and Three Charges to Shoot):
This shock dart location also lands on the Default plant spot on B-Site, but is instead shot from elbow. This is another good one to know in the scenario that you need to play from elbow. To begin, walk into the corner as pinged in the image above.
Turn to the wall behind you, and aim to the top right of the lines seen in the red rectangle. You will then want to use two bounces and release at three charges.
As expected, the shock dart will land perfectly on the default plant spot on B-Site. It’s worth noting that this one lands a little faster than the other ones, allowing you to potentially kill enemy players quicker.
Default Plant on B-Site from Hookah (One Bounce and One Charge to Shoot):
This is a good dart if you need to defend from Hookah, also landing in the default plant spot on B-Site. To begin, step into the corner as seen on the ping in the image above.
Aim your shock dart in the middle of the two patterns on the wall as seen in the red rectangle. Make sure you use one bounce and one charge as you release.
As seen above, the center of the shock dart will land just in the right spot to damage an enemy spike planter or even defuser.
Shock Darts for Bind Attack on A-Site:
Default Plant on A-Site from Attacker’s Spawn (No Bounces and No Charges to Shoot):
This is another arrow that can be very good for post-plant, as defenders often tap the spike to see if they can get any enemies to peak from Short-A. To begin, walk into the corner pinged in the image above and turn toward where A-Site is located.
Line up the right side of the charge HUD with the wooden post as seen in the red rectangle. This shock dart doesn’t need a bounce or a charge. Simply press mouse-one and release the dart for it to land perfectly on the default plant spot on A-Site.
Again, remember to make sure your team is actually planting for this general area or this dart will not be useful.
Default Plant on A-Site from Bathroom/Showers (No Bounces and No Charges to Shoot):
This shock dart is done from the back corner in bathroom and also lands on the default plant spot on A-Site. To begin, walk into the corner pinged in the image above.
Aim right above the hole in the ceiling with your crosshair placed right above the jagged design as seen in the red rectangle. Make sure to have no charges and no bounces, as this arrow will land directly on default just like the last spot. Simply press mouse-one and release the arrow as soon as possible.
When correctly done, the shock dart will land on the default plant position, damaging any enemies near its radius.
Sova’s shock dart can be a very deadly ability when used with lineups like those shown above. Some practice and memorization will be necessary to learn them, but once you know them, you will become a master at locking down sites and securing rounds for your team. Remember to combine this ability with good communication to have an even better chance at winning rounds and ultimately your competitive games.
